      Some of the kitchen remedies for immediate relief from the Toothache are:


  • Keep two cloves on the or near the gums touching the aching tooth, the pain will not be felt at all. After sometime, the pain will vanish.
  • Rinsing the tooth with warm water added with little rock salt also gives relief.
  • A piece of crushed garlic kept on the aching tooth will be helpful.
  • Biting a piece of raw onion along with its juice on the troubling tooth will give relief.
  • Just warm little juice of ginger  and rinse, it will be helpful.
  • Pressing a little ginger powder on the aching tooth will give relief.
  • Early morning putting a spoonful of oil either, mustard, or sesame oil or olive oil in the mouth, swishing, spitting it and then cleaning the mouth with warm or cold water followed by normal brushing the teeth with paste will go a long way in maintaining the health of the gums, and the teeth.

  •       For small burns - apply mashed tomato for quick relief .
  •       Chewing Mint leaves gives relief from the sensitivity of teeth .
  •     Keeping a clove near the affected tooth soothes the tooth pain.
  •    For throat pain , rinsing one glass of warm water mixed with half a teaspoon of black salt, one teaspoonful of vinegar, one teaspoon honey every 2 hours four times.
  • For relief from cough, make tiny balls of black pepper powder and jaggery and take it.
  • A warm poultice of ground paste of jaggery and caraway seeds ( ajwain ) will take out the thorn or a glass piece stuck up in the foot.

In flower vase add little lemon juice to water, flowers will not fade.


To remove a stubborn sticker, hold a hair dryer up to it. The warm air will soften the glue and make it easier to remove. This will also work for stamps.


When the wax of the candle gets stuck up on wooden furniture or sofa, melt it with a hairdryer and wipe it with a clean cloth. Then wash with water and vinegar.


When the kitchen or bathroom sink clogs up, add first 1 cup salt, 1 cup bakingsoda and one glass of hot water.


You can clean old pennies by soaking them in a mixture of vinegar and salt.

  • Charcoal briquettes are more effective than baking soda for removing odours in a refrigerator.
  • Petroleum jelly prevents rust.
  •  Milk polishes leather.
  • Ammonia cleans the oven.
  • Lemon juice takes away the ink stains.
  • Vegetable shortening removes lipstick stains.
  • Tarnish on the silver can be removed by soaking the piece of silver in a solution of half a cup of white vinegar and two tablespoons of baking soda for two to three hours and rinsing it and drying it.

    1  Dry swallowing ' teaspoon of sugar' can commonly cure hiccups.

  5 Chewing four or five black pepper along with fifteen raisins will give relief from cough.
