  • Water boiled and cooled after is  equilent to distilled water. According to ancient medical texts, this water retains its beneficial quality for 24 hours . Thereafter, it should not be used for drinking purposes.
  • One glass of warm water with a half teaspoonful of honey and juice of half a lemon taken on empty stomach daily in the morning helps in reducing the weight as well as in maintaining the body beautiful.
  • Warm water after food controls cholesterol and fat in the body. Sipping hot water slowly like tea after lunch and dinner is supposed to reduce weight.
  • After eating oily foods slow sips of hot water reduces the chances of  the formation of acidity.
  • If there is stomach ache due to extreme heat, drinking water boiled with cumin powder will help.
  • After eating ice-cream, drink hot water to avoid the throat problems.
  • When you come in from outside heat, drinking luke-warm water instead of ice-cold water will be more effective in quenching your thirst.
  • Drinking warm water boiled with dry ginger powder and palm sugar will remove body ache.
  • For relief from throat pain, drink water boiled with little pepper and cumin.
  • For cracks in the feet, dip and wash them with hot water mixed with salt and apply mustard oil.
  • Drinking warm water before going to bed aids good sleep.
  • If little salt is added to hot water in the hot water bag when using it, it will retain heat for a longer time.

  • Regular eating, regular sleeping, and regular working - these are the secrets to a man's sound health that accounts for the prosperity of a nation too.The ancient Gauls ( Celtic tribes who lived in ancient times to the area of Western Europe were named thus by the Romans ) were a very brave, strong race and were known for their abstemious living. Their food was milk, berries and herbs. They made bread of nuts. They had a very peculiar fashion of wearing a metal ring around their body, the size of which was regulated by act of Parliament. Any man who outgrow in circumference of his metal ring was looked upon as a lazy glutton, and consequently was disgraced.
  • Robert Collyer once remarked, " One great reason why I never had a really sick day in my life was that as boy I lived on oatmeal and milk, and brown bread, potatoes and a bit of meat when I could get it, and then oatmeal again."

1  -one fourth cup of warm water with a pinch of turmeric powder added, taken on  empty stomach daily in the morning, while boosting your immune system will prevent you from catching cold, cough and seasonal allergies. In addition to this, the same can be repeated before going to bed.

2 -  medicines should not be taken with juice as it dries up the effect of medicine.


3 - Adding a little home made Ghee ( saturated Butter ) to any food reduces G I ( Glycemic Index ) enabling one to overcome obesity and regulates sugar in the blood and make us more energetic. According to Ayurveda, intake of Ghee increases the digestive power and also our capacity to absorb and assimilate food. It lubricates the internal organs, internal inflammation and wounds.
