                  Healthy tips for cleaning and cutting of the vegetables and fruits


        There is no doubt that vegetables and fruits are very important for health. Equally important are the cleaning and cutting of the vegetables and fruits. If not washed properly, or improperly , or cut wrongly, we an face indigestion , gas, loud burping, and even diarrhea. Insecticides,and preservatives applied on them can create ailments once they get into the stomach.

 

  • Dip all the vegetables in the water containing two spoons of rock salt ( Himalayan salt) for ten minutes and then wash them in running water. The same procedure for fruits also.
  • Vegtables can be washed in one litre of water with four spoonful of baking soda, then with ordinary water.
  • Add one teaspoon of vinegar in one litre of water. Put the vegetables in it, keep it for some time, take out and wash in plain water.
  • For salads, cut one end of the cucumber a little and rub it against the exposed body part of it for sometime. Some froth will come out. Repeat on the other end. Don't cut the both ends simultaneously and then rub. Wipe out the froth or watery thing at the edges. Then peel if necessary and cut into desired shape. This will prevent bitterness, gas, and indigestion.
  • Wash the bitter gourds in normal water first, and then after cutting them, they should be put in water with rocksalt.
  • Cauliflowers- Take out the florets and dip them in water mixed with rocksalt and a little asafoetida for fifteen to twenty minuits. While cooking, a bit of ginger added to it will remove the bad odor from it. A little milk or lemon juice also will do the same.
  • Even peels have vitamins. Pumpkin, bottle gourd and bitter gourd. After washing, take out the peels. Grate them. Take a pan, put one table spoon of oil. When it becomes hot, add mustard seeds, green chillies and sesame roasted and ground, stir in the peels,and cook for sometime with salt. Garnish with coriander leaves, while serving.
  • For grapes- wash them in running water, then immersing them in water mixed with a little baking soda for sometime. This way consuming grapes is healthy.
  • Musk-melon, Cantaloupes- immerse it in water for a few hours. Clean it,dry it ,and then use it.
  • Water- melon- wash it, and dry it , and keep it folded in a wet turkish towel. After two hours, cut it, and keep it in the refrigerator. Fresh cut is better and heathy. If kept in the fridge throught out night is harmful
  • Apples- First dip the apples in water mixed with a little baking soda. Then clean them in fresh water. Then peel off and use it.
